Gontineac has his sights on two wins, not three children!

We are all aware of the bigger nations who have players appearing in their fourth and fifth World Cups, but not many will know this is Romanian centre, Romeo Gontineac's fourth World Cup.

And the 71-cap star has a habit of combining personal and professional affairs, marking sporting milestones with family celebrations.

Gontineac, who plays his rugby in the French Pro D2 for Aurillac, made his Rugby World Cup debut way back in 1995. It was during the tournament that he met his wife, Lucy, a South African, and promptly stayed in South Africa to play club rugby for two years.

Four years on and the 1999 World Cup and another celebration. This time the birth of his first child, a baby boy named Taylor. The run of World Cup celebrations did not end here though. 2003 in Sydney and the birth of his daughter Olivia-Rose.

Now to France 2007. When asked if their was a prospect of a third child, Gontineac and Lucy jokingly dismissed the idea, claiming two children was more than enough. However Gontineac did praise the support of his family as he embarks on his last World Cup.

"I feel very good. It's very exciting and I feel confident because I have very good support from my family - my wife Lucy and our two children, Taylor and Olivia-Rose, are here. They are a present to me," he told IRB.

With his family business taken care of Gontineac and his team-mates have shifted their focus onto a new goal, winning two pool games for the first time ever.

"I only see positive things that can happen," he said.

"I'd like to have a good experience with the team - to beat Italy, and then Portugal and to see our team in a better place, a better position than the last world cup."

"Last time, we were fourth in the pool - this time, we want to finish third. Because with the kids - well we've stopped with two, so this world cup will be great for Romanian rugby", he chipped in with a wry smile.
