Lawson looks to the past
Lawson: Ready to avenge the memories of 2005
Scottish hooker Scott Lawson has said the memories of 2005 will motivate his side when they take on Argentina in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
That Test between the two sides is still fresh in the Scottish players' minds as they try to turn the tables on the Pumas, having lost by four points due to a late penalty try two years ago.
"We were quite unfortunate not to get the result that day," said Scotland hooker Scott Lawson to IRB.
"We lost the game to a penalty try in the last 10-15 minutes, which we thought was a bit unfair," Lawson said.
The penalty try was awarded after Scotland infringed too many times in the dying stages of the game, helping the Pumas to a 23-19 victory.
The 1991 semi-finalists are well aware of the challenge facing them and they have been doing their homework on the Pumas.
"I think they could be the team of the tournament," said Fergus Thomson.
"They've improved a lot and their skill level has risen.
"They always seemed a scrummage team but now they also have other skills and are fast on their feet."
