The legend of Jaque Fourie

Legend in the making: Jaque Fourie

Springbok and Golden lions utility back Jaco Pretorius believes that Jaque Fourie, the current Springbok No.13, will become a South African rugby legend.

Fourie, although universally rated for his World Cup performances, has been a key figure in a Bok backline that has seen the team score 33 tries in six game.

And Pretorius maintains that the 24-year-old has not yet hit top gear.

"Jaque was a bit rusty at the beginning of the competition," he told this website.

"But he's picked up some lovely momentum and in the last few games has shown that he has all the makings of a top No.13."

Fourie has shown that he has solid defence and his adaptability - he was extra defensive cover for a besieged Danie Rossouw in the Springboks' semi-final clash with Argentina - is a major factor telling in his favour.

Fourie, despite weighing in at a hefty The 96 kilogram, is no slouch on attack.

"I think he has the ability to become a legend at outside centre," Pretorius said.

"He has great natural ability and he's also very committed and I believe that drive and passion will make sure that he is remembered as one of the best to ever wear the green and gold."
